Are you a happy camper or do you prefer to sleep in your own bed? Over the long weekend in June, we took a much-needed break back to nature on a two-night trip on the South Coast. Juwan grew up as a boy scout in America and camping is kind of his jam, so we booked a site wherever we could (last minute problems) and ended up near a quiet river in the gorgeous South Coast town of Gerroa, on Wodi Wodi land. Although one side of our campsite housed cabins, we opened our tent towards the water and it was pure bliss.

Read MoreOkay so you’ve decided that you wanna be friends with us and we’ve been excitedly planning your adventure together; we’ve helped you pick the perfect outfits to suit your style; you’re getting super pumped to run wild and explore with your lover; and then you open up your weather app and see that little cloud and droplets icon on your session date. Uh oh, now what? If you’ve chosen us, you’re ready to get a little muddy and are down to mess up your hair but what if there are showers predicted?
Read MoreEvery relationship is different and so no adventure session (and therefore photos) look the same. It’s so important for us to get to know each of our couples – your chemistry, your vibes, your personalities and the way you fit together – so that we can capture them authentically. Krista and Will have a deep, quiet and powerful kind of love that felt so special to catch a glimpse of, to witness in its raw and intimate state.
Read MoreFrom the moment their enquiry dropped into our inbox, I knew we just had to capture their love story. All love is beautiful, but there is something so magical about a relationship that blossoms over time on the foundation of friendship. Add in the long-distance element and it’s like something out of a movie. I was so invested in their story that I felt excited myself the day I knew Dinuka was touching down in Sydney.
Read MoreOn a cloudy summer's afternoon, we headed down to Kiama for Jessica and Joey's South Coast engagement photos adventure. Jess wore a white lace dress and khaki hat from our client closet, and Joey wore his signature denim-jacket-and-black-Converse combo. We were all excited to hang out, explore the scenery, and create some magic together.
Read MoreVow renewal (n.): commemorating your love, revisiting the promises you made when you got married. It’s hard to define a vow renewal beyond this, because it can literally be whatever, wherever and however you want. There’s not even a rule about how often you can do it. Heck, why not make it an annual thing? I think sometimes it’s seen as this formal thing you do when you’re older or if you’ve been through a separation – which you absolutely can, but there are so many other reasons you might renew your vows.
Read MoreHonestly I have no words for how much I freakin' adore these high-school sweethearts from Idaho, who have been in love for over four years now. Zeb and Savannah are unbelievably kind, ambitious, and full of joy and you sense that within seconds of meeting them.
They'd been living in Sydney for the past few months as part of a mission trip (actual couple goals) and as soon as we connected over Instagram, I knew we’d be friends. I don’t know how the universe sends us all these amazing souls but definitely not complaining! They were super excited to explore some more Australian landscapes so we took them to one of our favourite spots on the coast to let them soak up the scenery and each other.

You could almost feel his nervous excitement through the screen as he waited for our response. A couple of months earlier, Ethan and Brenda booked a sunrise beach adventure session with us to celebrate their love and now Ethan was preparing to take the next big step: asking Brenda to marry him. Check out their adorable proposal and engagement, as featured on Polka Dot Bride.
Read MoreBrittany and Blake were visiting Sydney from Tennessee, home of the Smoky Mountains and country music. Brittany is actually an amazing photographer herself, but she and Blake have never really had a couple’s adventure session together and barely even have wedding photos. Honestly that made me so sad because everyone deserves to have their love story captured. So of course we were stoked that they could finally have the opportunity while they were halfway across the world together, and honoured that they trusted us to document their love.
Read MoreWhat kind of landscapes do you love? I will forever love the salt-soaked, cliff-laced coast, but Juwan feels most at home in the mountains. They may not be the soaring, snow-covered peaks that Juwan grew up loving in Utah but the Blue Mountains have their own special kind of magic so I decided to take him there for a little adventure one cloudy Saturday morning in February.
Read MoreAdventure doesn’t have to mean putting on some hiking boots and trekking up a mountain. Sometimes it can be waking up while the moon is still shining and catching a train to the ocean with your love to capture memories while the sun rises - just like Nicole and Joel. They reached out to book a sunrise couple’s session at Cronulla Beach, just because.
Read MoreWhen I was thinking about which memories to share from their session at Dee Why Beach, I decided to focus on all the in-between moments - the way Rachel's hair blows in the sea breeze and Benjamin's golden curls spill over his forehead; the way Benjamin looks at Rachel like she's the most precious thing he's ever laid eyes on and brushes back her hair with his fingers as he goes in for the kiss; the way Rachel can't help cracking up at Benjamin's dry jokes; the way they both stare out across the ocean, imagining what their future together might hold; and the way they hold each other so tight, as if they'll never let go. These are the small yet significant in-between moments they will cherish forever.

Read More“Just because” couple’s photography sessions have to be some of our favourites. “Just because” we have no real pictures together, “just because” we want to capture this moment in our relationship, “just because” we’re down for an epic date we’ll never forget. Brenda and Ethan booked in a “just because” sunrise beach session in Cronulla on a brisk and slightly overcast winter’s morning.
