Cronulla Beach Couples Photography Session

Adventure doesn’t have to mean putting on some hiking boots and trekking up a mountain. Sometimes it can be waking up while the moon is still shining and catching a train to the ocean with your love to capture memories while the sun rises - just like Nicole and Joel. They reached out to book a sunrise couple’s session at Cronulla Beach, just because.

I have two things to say about these two. Firstly, couples who rhyme are the best! I try to get our names to rhyme too but it only works if you say “George Juwan” and “Sariah Dawn” in a really twangy American accent haha.

Secondly, Nicole and Joel are an absolute POWER couple. They met while they were at university where they were involved in student groups together. Joel is an awesome engineer and Nicole is an amazing researcher. They are both passionate about the environment, social issues, and making a difference. Best of all, they are so supportive and motivate each other to achieve their goals.

Also. When we say we want to be friends with you guys - we 100% mean it! Nicole is the absolute sweetest and has come back since to hang out with me in Cronulla. Pretty sure we talked for more than three hours about personal development, consumerism, and the impact of social media, over some delicious poké bowls!

Anyway, on an icy cold winter morning, I got to third-wheel on Nicole and Joel’s sunrise date in Cronulla. Nicole and I felt so sorry for poor Joel whose toes were freezing off on the sand! He was such a good sport about it, though. He also got to snuggle up real close with Nicole which he definitely wasn't complaining about.

Nicole and Joel’s love was just so warm and uplifting - Juwan was overseas and it was our first time apart since we’d been married so it’s safe to say I was missing him pretty darn much, but it was comforting to be around people who were so openly and fearlessly in love.

Nicole and Joel opted for a slightly darker wardrobe palette than we would usually plan for a beach session but with their gorgeous skin tones and the slightly cloudy weather, it totally worked and made for some epic moody magic, as you can see!
